Paul Chequer's narration gives adults an unflattering presentation--Marriot suffers from braggadocio, his wife is shrill, and the culprits sound sneaky. On the other hand, the young investigators, Theo, Ricky, Angela, and Bullet, have forceful, energetic voices that drive the story.
