THE GHOST

This taut political thriller is capably narrated by British actor Roger Rees. An unnamed writer is hired to complete the autobiography of the controversial former British prime minister Adam Lang after the untimely death of the first ghostwriter. Rees's performance of the writer blends dry humor with growing intensity as he investigates not one life, but two. Rees's portrayal of the secretive prime minister and his controlling wife creates tension as the listener tries to guess which one is hiding the most. Although abridged, this recording has ample twists and dramatic revelations to keep the listener entertained through the last sentence.
