HURRICANE WILLS

Sally Grindley and Tom Lawrence take on the very painful subject of a child’s attention deficit disorder and the chaos it causes in the entire family. Chris’s older brother, Wills, is a human hurricane. The family struggles to cope, but when dad moves out, things really get rough. Narrator Lawrence is extraordinary as Wills; listeners can clearly hear both his charm and torment. Lawrence also splendidly differentiates the two boys. It’s sometimes painful and wrenching to hear the family’s dynamics as they go from calm to fury when Wills becomes agitated. Grindley provides a glimpse into living with a troubled child, and Lawrence captures everyone’s experience of the situation.
