INSIDE STAR TREK

by | Read by Herbert F. Solow, Robert H. Justman

Contemporary Culture • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1996

Why not? Everybody else associated with the original "Star Trek" television series seems to have written a book like this. Solow was in charge of production, and Justman co-produced with the late series creator, Gene Roddenberry. Each reads in a slow, aging, faintly humorous voice, alternating as the text dictates. Interesting tidbits emerge, such as how the transporter beam was made visible, how the actors interacted and details about the complex character of Roddenberry himself. Various sound effects and selections of theme music are used effectively for punctuation. Trekkies will find this inside history compelling. D.W. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: NOV/DEC 96]
