What if you could invent a machine to recreate living things no longer on Earth? It's an intriguing question, and one that a certain physicist has studied. But while she's content to bring back extinct newts and the like, some aren't so easily satisfied. As the world becomes aware of her experiments, the doctor finds herself protecting her work, as well as her children. Kim Hicks lends the right feel to all the characters, especially a menacing extremist and a young boy, a naughty little fellow to whom she gives an ever-so-slight lisp that differentiates him from the physicist's own children.
