AN ISOLATED INCIDENT

A veteran of audiobook narration, Ed Asner shines again in his performance of Susan R. Sloan's gut-wrenching murder mystery. The murder of a 15-year-old girl in a family-friendly town at the heart of Puget Sound dumbfounds the community. Investigations by young detective Ginger Early lead to someone no one expects: a Jewish high school teacher who has been a resident for years. Asner expertly winds his way through the labyrinthine plot twists, bringing to life each of the characters with his commanding voice. At the very least, Asner's masterful storytelling skills are enough to recommend this audiobook. As it happens, however, the story itself is engaging and thought-provoking.
