THE FIRST PATIENT

by | Read by Phil Gigante

Mystery & Suspense • 12 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

THE FIRST PATIENT is a thriller focusing on U.S. President Andrew Stoddard's inexplicable descent into periodic insanity and the efforts of his friend, Dr. Gabe Singleton, to discover the cause. Palmer's novel is filled with plot twists and engaging descriptions of nanotechnology. Unfortunately, the story's absurd ending spoils an otherwise great plot and distracts from Phil Gigante's top-notch performance. Stoddard, Singleton, and the book's other key characters are fascinating, and Gigante provides each with a distinctive and memorable portrait. In particular, Gigante's superb depictions of the mentally unstable chief executive and the undercover Secret Service agent who attempts to identify the villains are among the book's highlights.
