Ian Carmichael plays Lord Peter Wimsey in this radio adaptation of Sayers's final detective novel. When Lord Peter purchases a country house for himself and his wife, Harriet Vane, he doesn’t plan on the death of the former owner or the bank’s repossession of all the house’s furnishings. As with all BBC Radio dramatizations, BUSMAN'S HONEYMOON is a cleverly plotted movie for the ears, animated by action, witty dialogue, and lively performances. Sarah Badel plays Harriet Vane, but the dialogue between the two characters comes across as stiff, lacking the warmth one would expect from a pair of newlyweds. Peter Jones plays the even-tempered valet, Bunter, and Rosemary Leach gives a gifted performance as the nosy housekeeper, Mrs. Ruddle.
