Roby presents an intriguing family. The husband is a prosperous African-American preacher, and his wife is struggling to come to terms with her failing marriage. Tanya wants to divorce her serially unfaithful husband but can't see a way out—until the miraculous appearance of a videotape. Caroline Clay's performance is an absolute delight. The entire cast of characters sounds authentic, and the Baptist minister is especially well crafted. Whether he’s delivering his sermons, cajoling his mistress, waxing poetic about his material possessions, or denying another accusation of his infidelity, Clay's voice gives him total credibility as a pathological liar. More important, her performance delivers insight into this Christian woman's situation without disrespect. P.R. © AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2009]
