Justin Eyre's gentle voice is the voice of the spirited wolf pup Kaala. Eyer's tone becomes bittersweet when Kaala's mother is driven from the Swift River wolf clan by pack leader Ruuqo, once Kaala's chest markings reveal her genetic mix. Eyre's powerful characterizations and polished performance capture Kaala's sense of abandonment and then depict her joy in clan friends and in Tlitoo, the comedic Raven who speaks in haiku. Taking on the cadence of legend, Eyre recounts ancient stories that pass on wolf lore, including the reason that human contact is forbidden. When Kaala is big enough to steal away to be with humans, Eyre believably captures her spirit of defiance and adventure.
