PAUL TEMPLE AND THE SULLIVAN MYSTERY

by | Read by Crawford Logan, Gerda Stevenson and a Full Cast

Audio Theater • 4 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2006

In a new production emulating one of BBC Radio's most popular serials, husband-and-wife detective duo Paul and Steve Temple travel from London to exotic Cairo in the 1940s to investigate a murder. The full-cast dramatization unfolds with a missing pair of spectacles and blossoms into a chase amid exotic locales. Narrators Crawford Logan and Gerda Stevenson portray the adventurous sleuths, joined by a supporting cast of victims and suspects. Sound effects provide atmosphere, but there’s a problem with pace. The flow of the action is too often interrupted—for venue changes, musical interludes, distracting credits at the end of each episode, and the repetition of previous text as each new episode launches. Still, this is a thrilling enigma for those willing to wait for it. A.W. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2008]
