LIFE ON EARTH

by | Read by Malcolm Ruthven

Contemporary Culture • 10.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1978

Written at the same time as the filming of the PBS series, this book surveys the animal kingdom of planet Earth from its simplest single-cell microorganism to its most complex life form--humans. It seems odd that Sir David Attenborough isn't reading the book as his voice is familiar to viewers of the series, yet Ruthven is an acclaimed narrator on British radio. He has a typical, clipped voice and sounds much like Attenborough, a plus for this recording. A few uncorrected editing mistakes mar the production. The production should be seamless and sound flawless, and listeners should demand this level of attention to production values. E.F. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JAN 95]
