THE LOTTIE PROJECT

When Miss Beckwith assigns her class a report on a Victorian subject, Charlie (Charlotte) thinks boring. But as she toils over her project about a nursery maid, she comes to realize how interesting and difficult that era was. Charlie also gets to know, like and respect both Miss Beckwith and a boy in her class, each of whom she had previously decided were also----boring. Eve Karpf does an outstanding job with both posh and ordinary characters, as well as the linguistic differences of diverse times. Karpf's sterling delivery makes each character special and distinct.
