THE NIGHTINGALE'S SONG

by | Read by Patrick Lawlor

History • 22 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1995

Relating the experiences of such renowned Annapolis graduates as John McCain, Oliver North, John Poindexter, and Robert McFarlane, historical writer Robert Timberg offers this study of the Vietnam War, told from the perspectives of those who fought the battles. Compelling and informative, the book is a unique look at well-known events and offers insights into a generation like no other. However, narrator Patrick Lawlor seems to struggle through his reading, sounding unsure of his delivery and lacking confidence in his ability to relate such important material with ease. Though Lawlor's voice is clear and well enunciated, it lags in parts as if he is spending too much time with each and every word so as to avoid any mistakes.
