After being out of print for several years, Archer Mayor's first novel featuring Joe Gunther is back, narrated with passion by Vermont resident Thomas Stevens. Gunther, a lieutenant in the Brattleboro, Vermont, police department, is investigating a spate of bizarre crimes involving jury members of a rape/murder case from three years earlier. Stevens's smooth narration captures the wry style and suspenseful edge of Mayor's writing. The audiobook, the first of Mayor's books to be produced by the author himself, is top quality.
