Aimed at upper elementary students, ages 9-12, it is part of the series A PRIMARY SOURCE LIBRARY OF THE THIRTEEN COLONIES AND THE LOST COLONY. Eileen Stevens has the clear, deliberate, unrushed delivery of an instructor who wants her students to understand the causes behind momentous historical events. She manages to make a historical text sound relevant and interesting to budding historians. Notes, introduced by a tone to alert the listener, and a time line at the end of the production help to reinforce the historical context.
