For all his admonitions for more scripture reading and prayer, Neil Cole seems to have a skewed idea of what the Christian Church is (or should be). While Cole advises a healthy departure from the "Purpose-Driven" church model, this advice is paired with a dangerous emphasis on nontraditional church gatherings that misapplies a biblical understanding of church. And while books like Cole's are usually targeted at a younger crowd, Marc Cashman reads with all the weight of his many years of professional narration, striking a grandfatherly tone that doesn’t work well for a book of this type. A narrator of Cashman's caliber can usually make short work of a difficulty like this, but this mismatch is glaring. S.M.M. © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2010]
