THE ART OF MAKING MONEY The Story of a Master Counterfeiter

by | Read by Jim Bond

Contemporary Culture • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2009

This entertaining book tells the story of Art Williams, a small-time thief who became one of the world's most successful U.S. currency counterfeiters. It's full of fascinating information about how money is faked and how difficult it is for people simply going about their business to determine if their money is actually real. Jim Bond has a rich, friendly, accessible voice that inspires our trust, which is ironic given that the book is about a crook. At times he is almost sunny, especially during the sections that describe the technological wizardry involved in falsifying legal tender. Bond dabbles in character voices and gives Williams a tone slightly different from his own voice, but otherwise he allows the story to tell itself.
