Olivia Bevelstoke and Harry Valentine's melodramatic courtship falls flat in this audio performance. Rosalyn Landor fails to convincingly portray Olivia's scatterbrained idea to spy on Sir Harry during the London season. The romantic emotion is superficially delivered, making Olivia's behavior seem starched and silly while Sir Harry emerges as wooden. Landor does convey the humor of the story, but Harry and Olivia spend too much time in thought for any extended liveliness. Further, the production has a persistent echo, and the vocal levels do not remain even. Overall, Landor's stiff narration doesn't enhance the story.
