This collection of stories that highlight the twentieth century's most important events is from THE ONION, a satirical print and online newspaper out of Madison, Wisconsin. A hit-and-miss affair, its funniest pieces are about the TITANIC, the Depression and the Apollo moon landing (harsh language on this one). The narrators are great at re-creating the tones and inflections of the radio era. They bounce from outrage to forthrightness to straight news delivery, depending on the story. The sound effects are also very good. R.I.G. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/NOV 00]
