OUR GAME

by | Read by Frederick Davidson

Mystery & Suspense • 12 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1995

Frederick Davidson's young women sound exactly the same--breathy, vapid and brainless but he's lucky here because there's only one female, and she doesn't appear much. He runs rampant with his excellent male characterizations, lacing them with his dry, faintly cynical rendition of the narrative itself in low, measured, polite British cadences. He also handles the Slavic characters well, using just the right accent to make them believable. Given that Le Carré's somber spy story is full of his usual angst, Davidson fits right in.
