THE SKY CRASHER by Scientology founder Hubbard is a blast from the past. A novella written in the 1940s, it's the exciting adventure of the son of a WWI daredevil pilot who is racing around the world so his failing airline can become the mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. J.J. "Caution" Jones soon proves to be as daring as his daddy. The production’s musical intros are a bit over-the-top, but the full-cast performances are excellent. Tait Ruppert, as Jones, and narrator RF Daley capably do much of the heavy lifting. The supporting cast members also perform their roles well. In the second feature, “Boomerang Bomber,” Ruppert co-stars and directs a full cast. Special effects round out both stories, making for great escapist fun.
