ICE

by | Read by Fred Sanders

Romantic Fiction • 5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2009

Despite his considerable narrating talent and obvious effort, Fred Sanders cannot infuse life into this latest offering from the prolific and usually successful Linda Howard. Gabe McQueen, son of the local sheriff, volunteers to warn neighbor Lolly Helton of an impending ice storm. When he arrives, he finds Lolly being held prisoner by two meth addicts bent on robbery and mayhem. Can he rescue her, and can they survive the ice storm during their escape? The story drags and works hard to create believable chemistry where there is none. Despite Sanders's creative narration, plausible accents, and well-modulated delivery, the audio experience is not enjoyable. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2010]
