POLITICAL DEATH

"Love conquers all" is the theme of Twelfth Night, the play currently running in the West End and starring actress Millie Swain. A more appropriate quotation would be "Love destroys all." This new Jemima Shore mystery not only involves political death, but also the very real deaths of three people--a traitor, an elderly lady and a romantically inclined theater assistant. Jemima Shore ventures into both the world of the theater and politics with her usual thoroughness and passion. Patricia Hodge, who plays Jemima Shore in the television series, reads the story in a direct, crisp, cultured fashion and dramatizes the female characters exceptionally well.
