A RARE BENEDICTINE

Ellis Peters's historical mysteries featuring the twelth-century monk, Brother Cadfael, are enormously popular. This selection consists of three short stories, including the tale of how Cadfael joined the monastery in Shrewsbury. The stories lack the richness of detail and fascinating character development of the full-length Peters novels, and veteran reader Stephen Thorne has little scope to highlight his considerable talents.
