SPACE STATION RAT

Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Daniel Bostick

Children Ages 10+ • 3.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2005

Meet a rat who can read, type, and survive on a space station. An escaped lab experiment, Rat finds the station's only child, the messy Jeff, to be her best source of food. An unlikely bond develops when Jeff realizes his email pal is a rat. Daniel Bostick, who produces many of Bruce Coville’s stellar productions, rightly gives Rat a reasonable voice while Jeff has a combination of adolescent whine and boyish enthusiasm. Other voices include a mechanical-sounding robot and some pompous adults. This is the most appealing rat to appear in public since Disney's "Ratatouille." Young listeners will want (I can't believe I'm saying this) rats of their own by the time a meteor shower threatens rodent and boy alike. M.M.C.
