ROVER’S TALES

by | Read by Michael Z. Lewin

Fiction • 6 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1998

Lewin's episodes of not-quite-anthropomorphic canines make delicious tidbits when taken in delicate bites. Rover is a charming vagrant, keen-scented, sharp-eyed and a little raffish with females. Of course, he explains, unlike the human species, he never forces his attentions. He just continues on, answering Nature's dictates (and no one else's) and responds with attitudes both heroic and philosophical to occasions of need. As both creator and interlocutor, Lewin deftly conveys the characters. Our view of the master and pet relationship will never be the same. Rover's perceptions may be debatable, but he (and Lewin) provide us with delightful excursions into the foraging, investigative territory of dogs.
