SIX ARMIES IN NORMANDY

by | Read by Robert Sevra

History • 15 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1982

The great slugfest that began with D- day and ended with the liberation of Paris is ably told. By focusing on some of the national characteristics of the six armies engaged (American, British, Canadian, German, Polish and French), Keegan not only gives us the broad outlines of the campaign, but also aspects that many may not have known or appreciated. Sevra reads this excellent work with great precision. He maintains a steady, well-paced voice with subtle, appropriate inflection. His diction is superb, and he reads non-English words like a native. The listener may wish to savor this in one sitting. M.T.F. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JAN 98]
