SUNSET STRIPPED

Southern California has grown into such a fertile field of inspiration for today's fictionalists that literary discourse may justifiably speak of The Hollywood Novel as a genre. The Hollywood Novel celebrates, embracingly or censoriously, the decadent, unscrupulous wackos who are connected one way or another with the entertainment industry. Sarcasm is its usual tone. Such is SUNSET STRIPPED, which employs a cast so huge that the dramatis personae has to be printed on the package. Actor Jamie Cohen, impersonating the charmless, screenwriting hero-narrator, does a workmanlike job with this fare, though he's unable, unwilling or just too embarrassed to handle the sex scenes with appropriate eroticism.
