THERE IS NO PARTING

Callum O'Shaughnessy, an Irish-Catholic sea captain in Liverpool, changes his family's complexion forever when his dalliance with the young daughter of gentry leads to a shotgun wedding. In the tradition of Romance novels, Callum and Maris are sure until the last chapter that they absolutely hate each other. Maggie Ollerenshaw brings gentle good humor and empathy to her performance, wringing tears from the listener at least once on each cassette. She gives every character a rich personality, finding strength and understanding in some and shallow meanness in others.
