THURGOOD MARSHALL

by | Read by Sonny Buxton

Biography & Memoir • 2.5 hrs • Abridged • © 1990

Part of the Black Americans of Achievement series, this biography looks at one of the foremost jurists of our time, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. It gives an account of Marshall's personal triumphs and tragedies and his role in the Civil Rights Movement from the 1950's to the 1980's. Although the text lacks analysis, it is exceedingly well written and well narrated. It would help a K-12 curriculum and is especially valuable as part of Black History month. The narrator's voice modulation and the sound quality are excellent, and the producers are commended for a fine job. E.F. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB 95]
