TOO MANY WOMEN

by | Read by Michael Prichard

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1947

Michael Prichard is a slow, pedestrian reader, but his voice lends itself well to the persona of the obese, literate, gourmand detective, Nero Wolfe. It is a rich voice, one might say a fat one, and so is Wolfe's, we presume. Prichard makes some attempt to delineate the other characters, succeeding reasonably well, and throughout the reading he never stumbles or falters. But one listens to this, and the other Stout titles he has narrated, for the stories themselves, for Nero Wolfe is eerily addictive. In this tale, he’s presented with one Wall Street murder and then another; his sidekick, Archie Goodwin, meddles until Wolfe perceives the solution.
