This Arab family saga traces the lives of two half-sisters, Camelia and Jasmine Rasheed, from their odd birth in Egypt after World War II to the present day. It's full of interesting information about Egyptian history and society, especially the role and treatment of women. The narration by Joyce Bean is excellent, with the accents and Arab words easily pronounced and understood. Though some of the names are difficult to learn, the listener is soon wrapped up in the lives of the Rasheed women.
