A WHITE HERON & OTHER NEW ENGLAND TALES

Sarah Orne Jewett's wonderful New England stories illustrate the timelessness and universality of fine writing. Each of the seven stories is a small gem with "Miss Esther's Guest" being the standout. Reader Sandra Piechocki does an excellent rendering of most of the stories although at times, she sounds like she's simply reading from a prepared script. When she excels, she does old-fashioned dialogue and men's, women's and children's voices very well.
