THE WIZARD IN THE WOODS

Second-class Junior Wizard Ben-Muzzy gets muddled in his magic and lands in the middle of adventures as enticing as Gulliver's. Seeking to make a magic circle, Ben-Muzzy teams up with twins Joel and Gemma. The three bumble through several hair-raising escapes from ogres, witches and the like. Brian Cant's reading of this rollicking adventure story is nothing short of wonderful. He portrays Ben-Muzzy's embarrassment at magic gone wrong with the same finesse as Gemma's disappointment. Cant's reading is well-paced and clearly enunciated without being tedious. He endows each character with a voice that perfectly matches the listener's visualization down to the last Grand High Wizard. L.S.
