WORLD FOLK STORIES

This international collection of tales has Russian, Celtic, Spanish and Latin American origins. Similarities to stories of other traditions show how the same tale can be altered by cultures and traditions, but basically stay the same, with the Hispanic tales seeming the most original. Three storytellers have collaborated in the program, which offers two stories on each tape side, making for easy access. Hurd, Pedrone and Flaherty have quite similar voices; light, clear and generally vibrant. Their characterizations are restrained, but easy to follow.
