A TIME OF LOVE, A TIME OF WAR

Michael Tudor Barnes's mesmerizing performance turns this novel into an addictive listening experience. Wiltshire humanizes WWII by entering the lives and loves of three couples and following their tribulations from the early days of 1944 through the end of the war. We meet John Fairfax, an American airman, and Sally, the British girl he loves New Zealander Robbie Cochran and his Irish sweetheart, Maddy and German SS officer Walter Raus and his wife, Inge. The human, very similar experiences of the three couples serve to make us aware of how alike we are despite our differences.
