This complex thriller courses through the lives of lawyers, law enforcers, and the low life of Boston s inner city drug scene. Narrator Ron McLarty gives an amazingly versatile performance in this twelve-cassette production. His deep, almost gravelly voice is perfectly suited to the rough characters of the police officers and the sleazy world they live in, but somehow translates fluently into the sleek law offices of young corporate attorney Matthew Boer, the main character of the book. McLarty's voice keeps the listener riveted through the agonizing suspense of the last few tapes. Tape 12 is an informative and entertaining interview with the author.
