DEADWOOD

Sometimes you just have to root for the killer. In Matt Braun's tale of justice and revenge, that's exacly what listeners end up doing. An engaging yarn from beginning to end, DEADWOOD follows Luke Starbuck, a private detective and manhunter, on a journey through Wyoming and South Dakota to hunt down of one its more loathsome outlaws. On the way, Starbuck discovers that he is actually the main target of the contract and sets out on a mission of revenge. Narrator Richard Ferrone does a commendable job holding the listener's attention and uses an impressive variety of accents to simulate dialogue, while Braun's descriptions of life in the West capture the imagination.
