ENGINEERED FOR MURDER

by | Read by Stephanie Brush

Mystery & Suspense • 8.8 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

This novel focuses more on the character of its protagonist, Tory Travers, a beautiful structural engineer in New Mexico, than on the two murders and vicious attacks that provide the basis for the story's criminal investigation and suspense. As a narrator, Stephanie Brush gets mixed reviews. Her characterizations are solid, including the high-pitched, tinny voice of heroine Tory, as well as her Hispanic voices. However, her straight narration sequences have an unseasoned, irritating quality. Despite its vocal imperfections, this is an engaging tape, with characters who have more depth than those in your average whodunit. D.L.G. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 01]
