600 HOURS OF EDWARD

Narrator Luke Daniels gives a compelling performance as Edward, a 39-year-old man with obsessive-compulsive disorder and Asperger’s syndrome. The story details the 600 hours that change Edward’s life forever, breaking him out of his inflexible routine and opening his heart to new people and experiences. Daniels’s portrayal of Edward is, wisely, straightforward and unaffected, making it easy for the listener to identify with the man’s challenges. Daniels gives thoughtful, spot-on performances of every character: Edward’s overbearing father, his comforting therapist, his damaged new neighbor, and her young son. Each voice adds dimension and emotion as Edward’s touching story unfolds, making listeners laugh, cry, and perhaps feel a little tender toward those who are different. M.M.G.
