[Editor's Note: The following is a combined review with ANDREW JACKSON, JAMES MONROE, and THOMAS JEFFERSON.]--An unnamed male narrator reads this read-along series about the private and public lives of early presidents with deliberation. He enunciates each syllable, drawing out words for emphasis. Soft background music accompanies the narration. The reader's voice is pleasant and calm, conveying respect and admiration for the famous presidents. The complexity of the words and the length of the chapters make these thirty-two-page books appropriate for upper-elementary students. The cassettes have read-along tones on one side and uninterrupted listening on the other. Age-appropriate activity cards are included.
