BRIAN'S WINTER

by | Read by Richard Thomas

Children • 3 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1996

Gary Paulsen adds to the saga of Brian, the boy who survived the plane crash in the North Woods, as told previously in HATCHET and THE RIVER. Richard Thomas delivers a somewhat melodramatic reading of this mild-mannered survival story. His tone fails to convey Brian's isolation or apprehension and builds none of the tension present in Peter Coyote's readings of the earlier titles. The title provides an additional entry in Paulsen's popular audio repertoire, but it's not the strongest. R.F.W. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN 96]
