THE BILBAO LOOKING GLASS

This concise murder mystery by the prolific MacLeod transpires among the yacht club set of heroine Sarah Kelling's childhood. When an extremely valuable antique mirror (the Bilbao Looking Glass) is mysteriously found in Sarah's summer home, her fiancé Max Bittersohn and she begin to unravel a series of murders. The story is peopled by bizarre characters in upper-class haunts. Mary Peiffer's cadence and demeanor blend well in these environs. She transitions with ease from characters as diverse as the police sergeant, overbearing aunts, and unruly boys. Her supercilious voice complements the story's ambience well.
