THE CORPORATE ATHLETE

by | Read by Jack Groppel

Personal Growth • 2.5 hrs. • Abridged • © 2000

Mental, physical, and emotional fitness is the subject of the program, which is aimed at the busy executive who’s lost his sense of how to take care of himself. By balancing rest, training, and mental preparation and accepting stress as necessary, you can approach work performances like sports events and be totally focused when the bell rings and the meeting starts. The advice on nutrition, sleep, and exercise is especially good and delivered without any fussiness. The program sputters at times when the author gets lost in over-the-top optimism and gratuitous name dropping; many of the aphorisms sound trite and don’t quite fit the moment. But the substance is there so most corporate jocks will ignore these glitches and find a lot of value in the program. T.W. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: AUG/ SEP 01]
