DISTEMPER

College town are usually quiet places, but not for Alex Bernier, reporter for the GABRIEL MONITOR. Bernier survived her boyfriend's death in RELIABLE SOURCES, Saulnier's first novel. In DISTEMPER, she is the tough, smart reporter who helps solve the gruesome murders of young women who disappear while walking their dogs. Although the victims' bodies are found, the dogs are not. Vida Vasaitis's narration is marvelous. She gives Bernier and the other characters personalities which, combined with Saulnier's wonderful dialogue, bring the book. to life.
