After describing the history of psychological types, the author discusses nine personality types, their characteristics, and how they change when confronted by life’s challenges. The descriptions are comprehensive and interesting, and most listeners will find themselves and many people they know in one or more of the types. Though any system involving personality types will be oversimplified to the serious student of personality, this has to be expected in a typology aimed at the "ordinary people" the program is designed to help. Though the author’s intellectual tone leaves something to be desired, one adapts to it because what she offers is so valuable and just plain fascinating.
