Something is rotten in Bohemia! Amateur sleuth and competitor of Sherlock Holmes, Irene Adler, with her handsome husband, Godfrey, and constant companion, Nell, arrive as agents for the Rothschild banking empire. The threesome tackle problems ranging from the unhappiness of the Bohemian queen to the murder of the two Worth girls, who were stabbed to death with scissors as they beaded. There is more about dress in this amusing novel than there is about mystery. The reading by Virginia Leishman sets a sardonic tone for this sartorial extravaganza.
