WHO KILLED HOLLYWOOD

by | Read by Edward Lewis

Contemporary Culture • 13.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Edward Lewis has a sort of robotic monotone--he doesn’t vary his pitch or range much. Attempts at characterizations usually end in utter failure. But he is wry, he reads with a built-in sardonic smirk, and he has pretty good diction. While not a superstar narrator, he somehow manages to excel despite these average qualities. This effort is no different. Written by the editor-in-chief of VARIETY and former studio executive Peter Bart, the book is a collection of essays that range from insightful to outright gossip. Fans of show business will feast on the material. And they will have this feast delivered with aplomb by Edward Lewis. R.I.G. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 01]
