Heather Henderson is the perfect narrator for this memoir of starting over and staying small. After developing a heart condition, Williams rethinks her fast-paced life and takes on the ultimate do-it-yourself project, building herself a small (tiny even), sustainable home. Henderson narrates this story, which is part life story and part how-to, in a straightforward, no-nonsense manner, much in the way Williams describes herself. The sections, which alternate between the past and present, flow together easily, and the narration truly draws the listener into the story. Henderson doesn’t use much in the way of accents or vocal changes in her narration, but the story stands on its own without them. E.N. © AudioFile 2014, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2014]
